Step Thirteen

Pour the entire contents of the jar onto the rotor plate while spinning the rotor as to uniformly distribute the mixture. If the mixture begins to set prematurely, small amounts of water can be added at the expense of drying time.

Step Fourteen

Gently tap the setup on the felt by grabbing the stop caps to help any entrained air escape the mixture. This also aids in evenly distributing the phase.

Step Fifteen

The resulting cake should be smooth and homogenous (i.e. no visible air pockets or water marks).

Step Sixteen

Cover the setup with a cardboard box and allow to air dry two days for thin plates (approx. 1 mm thickness) and seven days for thick plates (approx. 8 mm thickness).
