Catalyst Control 

Presulfiding of hydrocracking, HDN, HDS, and reforming catalysts is important to regulate their selectivity, activity, and stability. The process of presulfiding essentially relies upon the thermal decomposition of Dimethyl Sulfide (DMS) or Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) and subsequent replacement of oxygen atoms on the catalyst’s surface with sulfur formed in the decomposition process.

Gaylord Chemical offers two products for catalyst presulfiding: DMS Exact-S™ Grade and DMSO Enviro-S® Grade.
