Petrochemical

The petrochemical industry uses our products to two ways. Dimethyl Sulfide (DMS) and Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) are used to modify the reactivity of industrial catalysts, and as a protective agent for use in high temperature process furnaces.

Ethylene Production: The service lifetime of ethylene furnace tubes is prolonged when treated with DMS.

Catalyst Presulfiding: DMS and DMSO are popular sulfur sources for regulating catalyst activity in catalytic reforming, hydrodesulfurization, and hydrocracking industrial processes.

Iron Ore Reduction: The service lifetime of furnace tubes used to produce iron is prolonged when treated with DMSO and DMS.

Aromatic Extraction: DMSO and DMSO2 have an unusual affinity for aromatic hydrocarbons over aliphatic hydrocarbons. This allows their use as extractants for BTX (benzene/toluene/xylenes) and other aromatics, from mixture also containing aliphatic hydrocarbons.

Gas Odorant: DMS has advantages over common gas odorants.
